Infrared & Visible Scanning

Project Details:

Total Value:            $80 000
Year Completed:    2005
Duration:                2.5 years

Background:

The project aimed to develop a process for extracting indicator minerals from samples by leveraging infrared and visible spectrum analysis, utilizing the reflection of a light source off mineral particles.

Description:

The project evolved from the initial development of a batch processing method to the creation of a technology demonstrator and, ultimately, an advanced demonstration machine. The initiative focused on extracting indicator minerals from samples by analyzing reflections in the infrared and visible spectrums. Mechanical subsystems were engineered - capable of locating and extracting 300-micron particles from batches, ensuring precision and efficiency in the mineral extraction process. The successful development and demonstration of this technology marked a significant advancement in mineral processing capabilities.
